Professor Dr Karl Syassen passed away on December 21, 2023. His funeral service will take place on January 4, 2024 in Stuttgart, Germany. Professor Syassen had received the Bridgman Award in 2013, and has therefore been an Honorary Member of the AIRAPT. He gave important contributions to both the AIRAPT and the EHPRG. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the AIRAPT, during the 2015 AIRAPT Conference in Madrid, Professor Syassen delivered a plenary talk on the history and the achievements of the Association. He will be gratefully remembered by family, friends, colleagues and collaborators.
