Please consider submitting an abstract to the « MR10: Melts and Fluids in the Deep Earth » session at the Fall AGU Meeting. We had fruitful “melts at depth” sessions in Mineral & Rock Physics for the last few years, and wish to continue the tradition keeping you updated with the latest results.
Description: Melting and melt/fluid migration play key roles in the thermal and chemical evolution of the Earth and other terrestrial planets. This session aims at answering questions relevant to the presence of melts and fluids at depth, whether that be in the present Earth and planets, or in earlier periods, such as during planetary differentiation. We welcome contributions coming from experimental and theoretical approaches on the physical and chemical properties of melts and fluids, as well as from observational approaches (geochemistry, seismology) identifying the presence of these materials at depth, and numerical approaches on the dynamics and evolution of melt reservoirs.
