[20130916] LAM-15 Conference on Liquid and Amorphous Metals, Beijing, China, 16-20.09.2013

LAM-15 is the 15th international conference on liquid and amorphous metals (materials) which will be held at Friendship Hotel, Beijing, China during September 16-20, 2013. LAM conference has the rich history and continues the tradition of its 14 predecessors at Brookhaven (1966), Tokyo (1972), Bristol (1976), Grenoble (1980), Los Angeles (1983), Garmisch-Partenkirchen (1986), Kyoto (1989), Wien (1992), Chicago (1995), Dortmund (1998), Yokohama (2001), Metz (2004), Ekaterinburg (2007), and Rome (2010). This conference series provides a forum for the scientist in this wide community all over the world to present recent advances on liquid and amorphous materials.

As in previous editions, the conference is devoted to liquid and amorphous metals, and to those non-metallic systems, such as semi-conductors, molten salts, quasicrystals, etc., which were traditionally hosted within the program as well. The special emphases were given on emerging techniques in recent conference in Rome, and we will continuously highlight the development of advanced large scale user facilities, such as synchrotron and neutron sources, which provide powerful tools for measurement of structural and dynamical properties of liquid and amorphous materials, and push our understanding of these researches to a brave world. In addition, topics on extreme conditions, ultrafast techniques, highly metastable conditions/non-equilibrium states, simulations and calculations, etc will be highlighted.

This conference will include single sessions of keynote/invited presentations, which will include the eminent internationally known researchers invited by conference committees, and selected contribution papers. A dedicated poster session will be set up and best poster rewards will be elected. Young and junior researchers include postdocs, graduate students are strongly welcome to participate to this conference.
