The 2018 Gordon Research Seminar and Conference on Research at High Pressure will be held in Holderness, NH. The GRS will be held on 14th-15th, and the GRC on 15th-20th. Early registration and application is strongly encouraged.

Following the GRC principles, cutting-edge and unpublished results in high pressure research will be presented at this conference. A wide range of
topics will be covered, including geophysical research, strongly correlated electrons and biology. A special attention will be given to the most recent
developments in hydrogen. Most high pressure communities will be represented, from static high pressure to shock physics, and this year we will extend the theme of bridging gaps from time scale and temperature, to pressure range of interest, and future high-pressure science. We will have talks by established leaders in the field and also by young researchers who have already made seminal contributions to the field of high pressure research. Students and early career scientists are strongly encouraged to participate in the GRS.

The historically collegial atmosphere of this meeting, with programmed discussion sessions as well as opportunities for informal gatherings in the afternoons and evenings, provides an avenue for scientists from different disciplines to brainstorm and promotes cross-disciplinary collaborations in the various research areas represented. The conference format allows uniquely informal and extended interactions. To stimulate interactions and discussions that go beyond the focus of the speakers, “active” session chairpersons will be strongly encouraged to provide thematic overview of each issue and to guide discussions towards conclusions that will help advance the field. Mentoring sessions will also be organized in both events.
